With decades of study, initiation, and more than thirty-six journeys throughout West Africa, his path has been shaped through direct engagement within the Ifá and Òrìṣà traditions. Dr. Oba Ifágbèmí holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theology with a concentration in Traditional African Religions and has served in academic leadership roles while continuing his work as a teacher, author, and practitioner. He is the author of Practical Foundations of Ifá and numerous teachings dedicated to preserving authentic tradition while making its wisdom accessible and relevant to contemporary life.

For more than three decades, Kabíyèsí Dr. Oba Ifágbẹ́mí has devoted his life to the preservation, study, practice, and responsible transmission of the Ifá and Òrìṣà traditions. His path has been shaped through decades of initiation, continual study, repeated journeys throughout West Africa, and direct engagement with respected traditional authorities, priests, kings, and spiritual communities.
His work extends beyond ritual practice into education, scholarship, authorship, and institutional development. As the Founder of Oracle Ifá® and the Ayánmọ̀–Òrí Intelligence System™ (AOIS™), he has developed educational frameworks that preserve authentic African knowledge while making it accessible to students, practitioners, researchers, and sincere seekers around the world.
Alongside his traditional responsibilities, Dr. Oba Ifágbẹ́mí has served in academic leadership, authored multiple books on Ifá philosophy and consciousness studies, and continues to lecture, teach, mentor, and advise internationally. His work demonstrates that authentic tradition and rigorous scholarship are complementary expressions of wisdom, each strengthening and informing the other.
