Los Angeles draws seekers from everywhere — and many arrive carrying more than they show. Around Leimert Park, one of the great centers of African culture in the West, the traditions run deep: drum, dance, story, and the Orisa honored openly. Across the wider city, entertainment-industry professionals live under relentless pressure to perform, to be seen, to decide fast — while privately asking the oldest questions: who am I becoming, what is mine to do, what keeps going wrong in the same way.
Dr. Oba Ifágbèmì offers private Ifá consultation to Los Angeles seekers by phone or video. With 25+ years of Ifá practice, he is the Oludasile (founder) of Ilé Àálá Temple in West Palm Beach, Florida, and consults with clients across the country and around the world.
Far from home or surrounded by noise, the consultation offers something the city rarely does: unhurried attention. It is conducted through Dàfá (traditional Ifá divination): Ifá is cast, the Odù — the sacred sign governing your question — is revealed, and its counsel is interpreted with you in direct, grounded language. You bring the situation; the Odù brings the perspective you could not reach alone.
What your consultation includes
Your private 75-minute consultation ($145) is conducted personally by Dr. Oba. The session includes:
A live consultation by phone or video, scheduled around your hours
Dàfá divination and full interpretation of the Odù in clear, practical language
Time for your questions throughout — nothing rushed
Discussion of recommended next steps and any prescribed ẹbọ
A recording for your private review
Any additional spiritual work, materials, or ceremonies are explained and priced separately. You consider the recommendations before deciding whether to proceed.
What happens during the consultation
The session opens with what you are carrying — the career crossroads, the creative project stalled by doubt, the relationship that looks fine from outside and feels wrong from inside, the move you are afraid to make, the pattern you are tired of repeating. Dr. Oba performs Dàfá and interprets the Odù's counsel with you: timing, hindrances, openings, and whether ẹbọ is prescribed. Discussion of remedies is part of the consultation; any further work is separate, explained in full, and decided by you.
Other formats
A recorded 45-minute consultation ($95), five written Yes/No questions ($85), and an Ifá + Numerology session ($160) are also available. Full details appear on the consultation page.
