Chicago's South Side has long been a center of African spiritual life in America — study groups, drum circles, elders teaching the young, communities reaching back toward the traditions their ancestors carried across the ocean. Alongside them are the city's professionals, teachers, nurses, and organizers, carrying heavy decisions through long winters. What many share is a hunger for counsel with roots: guidance that comes from somewhere real, delivered by someone properly trained.
Dr. Oba Ifágbèmì offers private Ifá consultation to Chicago seekers by phone or video. He brings 25+ years of Ifá practice to every session and is the Oludasile (founder) of Ilé Àálá Temple in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The consultation is conducted through Dàfá (traditional Ifá divination): Ifá is cast according to tradition, the Odù — the sacred sign speaking to your matter — is revealed, and its message is interpreted with you patiently and plainly. There is no performance in it. You state your question honestly; Ifá answers honestly; together you examine what the answer asks of you.
What your consultation includes
Your private 75-minute consultation ($145) is conducted personally by Dr. Oba. The session includes:
A live consultation by phone or video, scheduled at your convenience
Dàfá divination and full interpretation of the Odù in clear, practical language
Time for your questions throughout — nothing rushed
Discussion of recommended next steps and any prescribed ẹbọ
A recording for your private review
Any additional spiritual work, materials, or ceremonies are explained and priced separately. You consider the recommendations before deciding whether to proceed.
What happens during the consultation
You describe what is happening — the decision you have been circling for months, the relationship wearing thin, the opportunity with a deadline, the recurring trouble you cannot name, the question about your direction that will not quiet down. Dr. Oba performs Dàfá, and the Odù is interpreted with you honestly: what supports you, what stands against you, what timing Ifá indicates, and whether ẹbọ is prescribed. Talking through remedies is part of the session; carrying them out is separate, fully explained, and always your choice.
Other formats
A recorded 45-minute consultation ($95), five written Yes/No questions ($85), and an Ifá + Numerology session ($160) are also available. Full details appear on the consultation page.
